While the museum’s mission statement is the preservation and interpretation of historical ordnance of national importance, its collection also includes a number of rifles and firearms from a variety of countries that participated in the First World War, including Hungary, France, Italy, Russia and Germany.
Kensington Veterans Military Museum | 902-836-3229
The Kensington Veterans Military Museum was formed in 1985, in order to perpetuate the memory and deeds of those who served and died in Canada’s wars and peace time. It is also for their comrades in arms in order to preserve a record of their valor so that their sacrifice would not be forgotten.
The Prince Edward Island Regiment Museum | 902-368-0108
Established in 1989 and located in the Queen Charlotte Armouries, the Prince Edward Island Regiment Museum exhibits artifacts and photographs relating to the military history of the militia on Prince Edward Island. Tours can be arranged, as well as a slide show on the history of the PEI Regiment.
