The Bedeque Area Historical Museum is housed in the historic Callbeck store built in 1899. Bedeque area Loyalist history and rural past is told by themes of the Callbeck Store, the Loyalist settlement, the Borden ferry service, farming, the one-room schoolhouse, military, church and home.
Lennox Island Mi’kmaq Cultural Centre| 902-831-3109
The Lennox Island Mi’kmaq Cultural Centre aims to promote public understanding of the Mi’kmaq Experience while contributing to the survival of local culture and traditions. The centre has interpretive displays that explain the history, culture, language, spirituality and religion of the Mi’kmaq.
Skmaqn-Port-la-Joye-Fort Amherst National Historic Site | 902-675-2220
A monumental site where four cultures converged: the Mi’kmaq, French, Acadian and British. Although the earthworks of the British fort are the only visible reminder of the diverse history of this site, it still has many stories to tell and a breathtaking beauty. Visit the Blockhouse lighthouse, wander along one of the 9 trails or take a pause at the Acadian Odyssey Monument.
