Beaconsfield Historic House | 902-368-6603
Designed and built by W.C. Harris in 1877 for James and Edith Peake, Beaconsfield was one of Charlottetown’s most elegant homes. Today, Beaconsfield Historic House stands as an example of Victorian architecture with many original features, and, has a fascinating story to tell. Beaconsfield House is a provincial site administered by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation.

This historical residence was the home of L.M. Montgomery in 1894-95 during her first year of teaching at the Bideford School. This museum covers three themes: shipbuilding; Parsons/Ministers and their contribution to the community; and Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Sir Andrew Macphail Homestead | 902-651-2789
Situated on what was the McPhail family farm, the Homestead illustrates the story of Andrew, one of the 10 children, who after graduating from a two-room school, went on to become a medical doctor and professor at McGill University, authored 10 books and enlisted for the First World War at the age of 50.

The residence of the late Wanda Lefurgey Wyatt has been sensitively restored to its former elegance and charm. The 1867 house is a treasure trove of antique furnishings and offers an opportunity to experience the life and times of the Wyatt family over more than a century.

The Museum traces the history of the Island’s once mighty shipbuilding industry in the western region of the Island. Explore the restored Victorian rooms of historic Yeo house, home of a successful shipbuilder.
