Acadian History Itinerary

Acadian Museum | 902-432-2880 

Follow the fascinating odyssey of Island Acadians from 1720 to the present; discover treasures related to the Acadians’ 300-year presence on PEI. Investigate your Acadian family roots through the onsite genealogy resources. The Acadian Museum is a provincial site administered by the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation. 

Bottle Houses | 902-854-2987 

Experience true recycling! Three sun-kissed multi-colour glass bottle houses nestled in a beautiful garden! Over 25,000 recycled bottles make up these extraordinary structures that are surrounded by peaceful gardens with hundreds of flowers and ornamental plant varieties. 

Farmers’ Bank of Rustico Museum / Doucet House | 902-963-3168 

The Farmers’ Bank is a museum commemorating the work of Father Georges-Antoine Belcourt between 1859 & 1869 in Rustico. The Bank was an important link in the establishment of “Les Caisses populaires” and “Credit Unions”. Visit the Doucet House, a fantastic example of a traditional Acadian home dated ca. 1772 and one of the oldest buildings in PEI! 

Roma at Three Rivers National Historic Site of Canada | 902-838-3413 

Roma at Three Rivers brings to life the story of Jean Pierre Roma, the French merchant who in 1732 established an international trading post at Trois-Rivières. The site presents guides in period clothing for interpretation of the French heritage garden, the artifacts along with children toys and games. 

Village musical acadien | 902-854-3300 

The Village features an outdoor venue which includes a small performance hall with an interactive learning area and a hall of fame, an outdoor stage, an art gallery and a lovely terrace.
