Lucy Maud Montgomery Lower Bedeque School

Lucy Maud Montgomery Lower Bedeque School / École de rang Lucy Maud Montgomery Lower Bedeque

Lucy Maud Montgomery Lower Bedeque School

Lucy Maud Montgomery, the author of Anne of Green Gables, taught in this country school from October 1897 to the spring of 1898. Furnished as a nineteenth century country school, there are displays on the history of schooling in the area, and on Montgomery’s life in Bedeque, where she fell in love with a young farmer Herman Leard with whose family she was boarding. On display are mementos connected with Herman.
